Reports of a shooting incident in Canada following a concert by popular Indian Punjabi singer and actor Amy Virk have circulated widely but the singer’s father has denied claims that Amy Virk or his vehicle was targeted in the incident.

According to Indian media reports, the incident took place at around 11pm on September 5 near McCallum Road in Abbotsford, British Columbia. Police were reportedly informed about gunfire involving a vehicle. The vehicle had been struck by seven bullets but fortunately no one was injured in the shooting.

Initial reports suggested that the bulletproof vehicle targeted in the incident was part of a convoy associated with Amy Virk’s concert. However, police have not yet confirmed who was the intended target or whether the shooting was directly connected to the singer.

Shortly after the shooting, another vehicle was reportedly found completely burned in the nearby Sunnyside Place area. Police arrived at the scene and discovered the vehicle badly damaged by fire. Authorities are now investigating whether the burning vehicle is connected in any way to the earlier shooting.

Meanwhile, Amy Virk’s father, Kuljit Singh has rejected reports suggesting that the singer was involved in or targeted by the attack. He confirmed that his son is completely safe and said there was no reason for concern regarding Amy Virk’s safety.

According to Kuljit Singh, the vehicle involved in the shooting may have been connected to the organizers of the concert rather than Amy Virk himself.

The incident has attracted attention because of the singer’s popularity among Punjabi music fans in India and abroad. Authorities are continuing their investigation, while key questions about the motive behind the shooting and the identity of the intended target remain unanswered.

At this stage, there is no confirmation from police that Amy Virk was the target of the attack. His father’s statement has provided reassurance to fans that the singer is safe.
