Shortened life

According to the most recent demographic data, life expectancy has slightly decreased from 65.4 years two years ago to 65 years, the number of years that a person is likely to live. The infant mortality rate, total and general fertility rates, crude birth and death rates, and the rate of natural increase were among the other important figures computed by the Pakistan Demographic Survey 2020.  The report states the summary measure index called “Life Expectancy at Birth” is derived from a life table. It displays the typical number of years that people can expect to live after birth if they encounter the current rates of age-specific mortality. As a result of being independent of population age distribution, the expectation of life at birth serves as a more accurate indicator for international comparisons of a nation’s mortality rate and social and economic standing. According to the Life Table of PDS-2020, for the year 2020, the average life expectancy in Pakistan is 65 years; for men, it is 64.5 and for women, it is 65.5.

Pakistanis deserve better, and life expectancy can be increased through a better lifestyles and better health care.
