Sports Equipment Distributed to 70 Government Boys’ Schools for the First Time

A grand ceremony was held to mark the occasion, with Provincial Minister for School and Higher Education Rana Sikandar Hayat as the chief guest.

Lahore Board of Intermediate and Secondary Education has taken a landmark step to promote sports activities in government schools. For the first time in its history, modern sports equipment for eight different games has been distributed among 70 government boys’ schools across Lahore Division. The equipment includes volleyball, cricket, tennis, table tennis, basketball, handball, badminton, and other essential items.

A grand ceremony was held to mark the occasion, with Provincial Minister for School and Higher Education Rana Sikandar Hayat as the chief guest. He personally handed over the equipment to school representatives. Around 400 students from government schools of Lahore, Kasur, Sheikhupura, and Nankana Sahib districts participated enthusiastically in the event.

Renowned Olympian Shahbaz Senior attended as guest of honor and praised the passion of young students. The ceremony was also graced by Lahore Board Secretary Mian Rizwan Nazir, Director Sports Dr. Badr Mohiuddin, CEOs of all concerned districts, physical education teachers, and distinguished personalities from the education and social sectors.

Addressing the gathering, Minister Rana Sikandar Hayat said that students in government schools possess immense talent, and the government’s mission is to provide them with equal opportunities in sports. He emphasized that these initiatives will help revive playgrounds and enable children to shine at the international level, bringing pride to the nation. He added that Lahore Board’s initiative sets an example for other educational boards to follow.
