Thatta police arrest three murder suspects in Roshan Ali Jarro case

THATTA: Deputy Superintendent of Police Azhar Hussain Samoon posted at police station Ketibunder of district Thatta during a press conference on Wednesday, claimed to have arrested three suspects involved in the murder of Roshan Ali Jarro near Ghorabari town of district Thatta.

He said that Roshan Ali Jarro who was a Suzuki driver, was returning home from Karachi on the intervening night of 14 and 15 January when he was waylaid by three armed men who tried to rope him, but the victim tried to resist the robbery bid.

“Upon resistance, they opened fire on the 28-year-old Roshan Jarro leaving him dead on the spot”; he said.

An FIR of the incident was registered by the maternal uncle of the deceased at Ghorabari police station under sections 302, 392, and 34 of Pakistan Penal; Code 1860.

DSP during the media briefing told local reporters that the hunt was on for arresting the suspects involved in the horrendous incident and eventually they got a tip-off regarding the presence of suspects and managed to apprehend them.

The arrested suspects were identified as Ghulam Muhammad, Hamza, and Mukhtiyar Chandi, while key suspect Adam Chandio who reportedly led the gang managed to flee.

“We are making adamant efforts to lay hands on Adam Chandio”; held DSP and added that police had recovered a pistol used for committing the offense, eighty thousand rupees cash that was snatched from the victim and a motorbike allegedly used in the commission of crime.

The incident has sent a wave of fear across Gorabari Taluka of district Thatta, an otherwise peaceful area.

Members of the civil society have called into question the performance of district police and demanded setting up police pickets in the sensitive areas of the district haunted by robbers.
