RAWALPINDI: A court has sent the father, brother and uncle of TikToker Shamsu Bibi alias Ayesha Ghulamna to jail on 14-day judicial remand in connection with her murder case.

The suspects were produced before Area Magistrate Muhammad Asif Iqbal at the Rawalpindi District Court for a hearing in the case.

During the proceedings, the court approved a four-day physical remand for two other arrested suspects, while the three family members were sent to jail on judicial remand for 14 days.

Police had arrested five suspects, including Shamsu Bibi’s father, on August 22 in connection with her killing.

Shamsu Bibi, also known as Ayesha Ghulamna, was killed on August 14. Police have alleged that she was murdered by her father and brother in the name of so-called honour.

The case has attracted attention because of the involvement of the victim’s close family members.

According to the police, other relatives may also have been involved in the crime. The SSP Operations said that Ayesha’s cousins were also allegedly linked to the murder.

Investigators are continuing to question the arrested suspects and examine the circumstances surrounding the killing.

The court’s decision means the three nominated family members will remain in judicial custody for 14 days as the investigation proceeds.
