Tinted car windows may soon be legal in Pakistan

Pakistan may soon allow ordinary citizens to legally install tinted car windows under a proposed revision to the Tinted Glass Permit Policy 2025.

According to the draft policy private vehicle owners would be able to obtain a tinted glass permit by paying an annual fee of Rs. 15,000.

Current and former members of parliament would receive permits free of charge while only accredited diplomats would be eligible among foreign applicants.

Officials say the revised policy is still under consultation with relevant stakeholders and final approval has not yet been granted.

If approved the new rules will introduce updated eligibility criteria permit fees and application procedures for tinted vehicle windows across Pakistan.
