Pakistan Railways has extended the suspension of train operations from Balochistan to other parts of the country for a second consecutive day as maintenance and repair work continues on the railway track.
According to railway authorities, train services that were initially halted on July 9 will remain suspended on Friday, July 10, to facilitate ongoing repair work and ensure the safety of passengers and railway operations.
Officials said the suspension has affected several scheduled services, including the Jaffar Express, one of the country’s major long-distance passenger trains. The Jaffar Express scheduled to depart from Quetta to Peshawar has been canceled for the day, while the train traveling from Peshawar to Quetta will operate only up to Jacobabad instead of completing its journey to Quetta.
Pakistan Railways stated that the temporary suspension is a precautionary measure aimed at allowing technical teams to complete the necessary repairs without disrupting safety standards. Railway engineers are working to restore the damaged section of the track as quickly as possible so that normal train operations can resume.
The department has also assured passengers that those holding confirmed tickets for the canceled services will receive a full refund. Travelers have been advised to contact railway booking offices or the relevant reservation centers for refund procedures and updated travel information.
