The sudden shift has added more uncertainty to the already sensitive negotiations between Washington and Tehran.

According to The New York Times, the United States has now sent revised and stricter proposals to Iran. These updated terms are tougher than earlier drafts and are aimed at increasing diplomatic pressure on Tehran.

The report says the main objective of the new proposal is to push Iran toward accepting a pre-agreed framework without further delay. U.S. officials believe that stronger conditions may force Iran to respond more quickly and positively to the deal.

Earlier, Trump had made confident statements regarding progress in talks. He claimed that Iran had provided assurances that it would not develop nuclear weapons and would not seek to acquire an atomic bomb under any circumstances.

In a recent television interview, Trump also announced that the Strait of Hormuz would be reopened on Friday. However, he later revised his statement, saying that the waterway would only be reopened once the agreement is formally signed.

Trump further stated that the United States and Iran are very close to reaching a deal. He claimed that Washington is securing what it wants from the negotiations and remains in a strong position.

He also added that he is in no rush to finalize the agreement, warning that a hurried deal would not be a good deal. According to him, the focus is on achieving a stable and favorable outcome for the United States.
