The federal government has approved a 35 percent increase in salaries of university teachers serving under the Tenure Track System (TTS). The revised pay package will come into effect from July 1, 2026.
According to an office memorandum issued by the Ministry of Finance on Friday, the federal cabinet approved the TTS Pay Package 2026 while endorsing the decision taken by the prime minister on September 20, 2021. Under the new package, the existing salary scales of professors, associate professors, and assistant professors have been revised.
Under the updated scale, the minimum salary of a TTS professor has been increased from Rs394,875 to Rs407,230, while the annual increment has been raised from Rs19,305 to Rs20,320. The maximum salary has been revised from Rs684,450 to Rs712,030.
For associate professors, the minimum salary has been increased from Rs263,250 to Rs370,810. The annual increment has been raised from Rs15,356 to Rs18,320, while the maximum salary has been increased from Rs493,590 to Rs645,610.
Similarly, the minimum salary of an assistant professor has been increased from Rs175,500 to Rs288,020. The annual increment has been revised from Rs12,065 to Rs17,720, while the maximum salary has been raised from Rs356,475 to Rs553,820.
The office memorandum stated that TTS faculty members who are in service on June 30, 2026, will be placed in the new TTS-2026 pay scale at the same stage they currently hold in the existing scale.
The Ministry of Finance clarified that the financial impact of the revised salaries will be covered by universities from their own resources. The federal government will not take any additional financial responsibility for the implementation of the revised pay package.

And Assistant prof with 10 incr.
It’s a big anomaly in revised scales that must be resolved
