According to aviation sources, Flight TK-710 departed from Istanbul as scheduled and was en route to Islamabad when the crew encountered a problem during the flight. Data from FlightRadar24 indicated that the aircraft temporarily lost signals from the Global Navigation Satellite System (GNSS), prompting the pilots to take precautionary measures.
After assessing the situation, the flight crew declared an emergency and coordinated with air traffic control. Following ATC guidance, the pilots safely diverted the Airbus A330 to Heydar Aliyev International Airport in Baku.
Airport authorities safely evacuated passengers from the aircraft and escorted them to the terminal while maintenance teams began inspecting the plane to identify and resolve the issue.
The flight had originally been scheduled to arrive at Islamabad International Airport at 3:35 pm. Turkish Airlines has not yet announced when the aircraft will resume its journey or when passengers will be flown to their destination. Aviation authorities are expected to investigate the cause of the technical problem.
