Ultrasound method influences deep brain neurons without surgery

American experts have discovered a method to influence neuron activity deep inside the brain without surgery.

According to an American journal, researchers led by Iranian-American neurosurgeon Ali Rezai have successfully conducted experiments using ultrasound to stimulate deep areas of the brain without surgery.

Experts say the procedure uses specific ultrasound waves to alter neuron activity in targeted areas of the brain without drilling holes in the skull.

So far, American experts have used this method on 47 people to treat addiction and other psychiatric disorders. Further research into the treatment is ongoing.
