United Nations Secretary-General Antonio Guterres arrived in Islamabad on Monday for an official visit to Pakistan. Acting Foreign Secretary Ambassador Nabeel Munir received the UN chief upon his arrival.
Guterres will remain in Pakistan from October 6 to October 8. During his visit, he is scheduled to meet President Asif Ali Zardari, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar.
According to the Foreign Office spokesperson, the UN secretary-general will also meet Chief of Defence Forces Field Marshal Asim Munir.
The visit will provide an opportunity to discuss regional and global developments, while highlighting Pakistan’s efforts to promote international peace and security.
The discussions are also expected to cover Pakistan’s role in addressing regional challenges and its contribution to global peacekeeping and stability.
