UNICEF and PM youth program unite in $20 million investment to empower Pakistani youth

UNICEF and the Prime Minister’s Youth Program have joined forces in a $20 million investment initiative aimed at empowering Pakistan’s youth.

This collaboration, named the Generation On Limited project, was announced during a significant high-level meeting attended by key representatives from both organizations.

Prime Minister Mian Muhammad Shahbaz Sharif, Chairman Rana Mashhood Ahmed Khan, and Deputy Secretary Dr. Muhammad Ali Malik from the Prime Minister Youth Program, along with UNICEF Representative in Pakistan Abdullah Fadal and distinguished members Larisa Brun and Mom Salim, were present at the event where the Letter of Intent was signed.

Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif highlighted the crucial role of this investment in unleashing the potential of Pakistan’s young generation.

Chairman Rana Mashhood Ahmed Khan emphasized the synergy between the Prime Minister Youth Program and UNICEF, stating that the Generation Unlimited project perfectly aligns with their vision of providing comprehensive support to Pakistani youth.

The initiative aims to bridge the gap between education, skill development, and employment opportunities, with a particular focus on disadvantaged youth, including young women and those not engaged in education, employment, or training (NEET).

The $20 million investment will support a range of programs under the Generation Unlimited project, prioritizing youth empowerment through innovative approaches such as the Public-Private Youth Partnership (PPYP).

This inclusive framework seeks to involve various stakeholders from the private sector, public institutions, and international financial institutions (IFIs), thereby enhancing youth representation and encouraging their active involvement in decision-making processes.

Abdullah Fadil, UNICEF Representative, reaffirmed the organization’s unwavering commitment to reshaping the narrative for Pakistani youth, envisioning a future filled with opportunities and empowerment.

The collaboration between the Prime Minister’s Youth Program and UNICEF symbolizes a shared dedication to nurturing the potential of Pakistan’s youth and establishing a strong foundation for the nation’s future prosperity.
