The 51-year-old star shared details of her upcoming projects during an interview with Hindustan Times, revealing that she is exploring opportunities on OTT platforms.

“I am looking for roles I haven’t done before, especially on OTT,” Urmila said. “There’s a whole new range of genres, characters, and emotions being explored on these platforms, which is very exciting.” She noted that she has already completed one show, expected to release next year, and is eager to take on challenging projects that push her creatively.

Reflecting on her career, Urmila emphasized her commitment to variety. Unlike many actors who stick to familiar roles, she deliberately chose diverse characters, from the comedy-drama Rangeela to the intense family drama Judaai. “I’ve always wanted to reinvent myself on screen. Even if a film wasn’t a commercial hit, it helped me grow as an actor,” she said.

Urmila also stressed that her artistic choices were guided by passion rather than trends. “I never restricted myself to the same type of roles like others. Exploring different stories and emotions has been the most important part of my journey.”
