US, KP leaders discuss minerals, energy, security

US Chargé d’Affaires Natalie Baker and Peshawar Consul General Tom Eckert met Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Assembly Speaker Babar Saleem Swati at the KP House in Islamabad, according to the US Embassy.

The meeting was also attended by parliamentary leaders from Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. The discussions focused on several areas of mutual interest between Pakistan and the United States.

According to the US Embassy, the officials discussed American priorities and ways to strengthen cooperation in key sectors. These included critical minerals, energy and security.

The meeting also focused on areas where greater cooperation could support economic development and regional stability. The officials exchanged views on strengthening existing engagement between the two sides.

The US Embassy said the partnership between Pakistan and the United States remains important for advancing shared objectives. It also highlighted the role of cooperation in promoting stability across the region.

The meeting comes as discussions on critical minerals and energy are gaining importance in international relations. Security cooperation also remains a significant area of engagement between the United States and Pakistan.

The participation of KP parliamentary leaders provided an opportunity to discuss provincial priorities and areas of potential cooperation. The meeting also reflected continued diplomatic engagement between US officials and political representatives in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
