WASHINGTON: US Vice President JD Vance has issued a stern warning to Iran, declaring that any act of aggression would be met with a forceful response from the United States.

Speaking about the growing tensions between the two countries, Vance said that if Tehran has concerns over the implementation of the existing memorandum of understanding, it should resolve them through diplomatic channels rather than military action.

“If Iran has any disagreements about how the agreement is being implemented, they can simply pick up the phone and talk,” he said, emphasizing that diplomacy remains the preferred path while warning that violence would only be answered with violence.

His remarks come after the United States launched airstrikes on Iranian targets following what US officials described as an Iranian drone attack on a commercial cargo vessel in the Strait of Hormuz.

According to US Central Command, the military operation was conducted in response to the alleged attack on the merchant ship, marking another escalation in the ongoing confrontation between Washington and Tehran.
