Women across the Muslim world

Pakistan is hosting the 9th OIC Ministerial Conference on Women in Islamabad on July 12 and 13. Delegations from OIC member states have gathered in the capital for this important two day event. The theme of the conference is clear. It calls for socio economic and political empowerment of women in OIC countries, and it looks at the challenges and the way forward.

This is a moment Pakistan should take seriously. Women across the Muslim world still face barriers in education, jobs, and leadership. Many are denied a proper voice in decisions that shape their own lives. This conference brings ministers, officials, and experts together to talk about real solutions, not just promises.

Senator Azam Nazeer Tarar will chair the conference for Pakistan. This is a chance for the country to show real leadership, not just host a meeting and forget about it once the delegates leave.
