37 police personnel suspended over corruption in Lahore

LAHORE: DIG Investigation Lahore Syed Zeeshan Raza has taken action against corruption and suspended 37 police officers and personnel.

According to officials, those suspended include 11 Sub-Inspectors, 14 Assistant Sub-Inspectors, 6 Head Constables and 6 Constables. The personnel were posted at various police stations across Lahore.

DIG Investigation Syed Zeeshan Raza has directed that strict departmental and legal action be initiated against all suspended officers and personnel. The investigations will be conducted at police headquarters.

Syed Zeeshan Raza said that the police department has an effective system of internal accountability and that a zero-tolerance policy against corruption is being implemented.

He made it clear that the crackdown against corruption would continue and that no leniency would be shown. The DIG Investigation praised hardworking, competent and honest police personnel describing them as an asset to the police department.

According to officials, the action against the 37 personnel aims to strengthen the accountability process within the police department and restore public confidence in the police. Further departmental investigations against the suspended personnel are underway.
