BS-20 police officer Syed Hashmat Kamal moved from FIA to motorway police

According to Establishment Division Notification No. F. No. 12 (27)/2005-E-3 (Police), issued on August 28, 2026, Kamal was serving with the FIA

ISLAMABAD: The Establishment Division has transferred BS-20 officer Syed Hashmat Kamal, a member of the Police Service of Pakistan (PSP), from the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) to the National Highways and Motorway Police (NH&MP).

According to Establishment Division Notification No. F. No. 12 (27)/2005-E-3 (Police), issued on August 28, 2026, Kamal was serving with the FIA under the Interior and Narcotics Control Division.

Under the latest order, his services have been placed at the disposal of the Ministry of Communications for his further posting with the NH&MP. The transfer has taken effect immediately and will remain in force until further orders.

Copies of the notification have been circulated among the relevant authorities, including the Director General FIA, Inspector General NH&MP, Director General National Cyber Crime Investigation Agency (NCCIA), concerned federal ministries, provincial chief secretaries and police authorities for necessary action.

The development comes as senior-level changes are being reported within law-enforcement institutions, particularly against the backdrop of expected adjustments in key positions at the NCCIA.

In a recent related development, Athar Waheed, Additional Director General of the FIA’s Counter Terrorism Wing, was appointed Director Operations at the NCCIA. The appointments and transfers indicate an ongoing reorganisation of senior law-enforcement positions as authorities prepare for further recruitment and institutional changes.
