AI Generated Summary

If you enjoy watching videos on TikTok, a new report suggests that a significant portion of the content you see may be created using artificial intelligence (AI).

According to a report by the American company Kapwing nearly 60% of the videos viewed by TikTok users are generated with the help of AI technology. The report noted that this percentage is three times higher than the level of AI-generated content seen by users on YouTube.

Researchers said the findings indicate that TikTok’s algorithm-driven feed tends to give greater visibility to lower-quality content. The report further stated that the situation appears to be even more pronounced among younger users.

In fact, AI-generated content is most prevalent in TikTok’s children’s category while videos tagged with the “Cartoon Kids” hashtag are almost entirely AI-generated.

According to the report, only about 3 out of every 100 videos in that category are created by humans. As a result, when children use TikTok for educational content or human-created entertainment, their feeds are often dominated by AI-generated videos.

The report also found that if a user shows interest in AI-generated videos, TikTok’s recommendation system begins displaying even more of that type of content.

Experts warned that excessive exposure to AI-generated content could potentially have negative effects on children’s cognitive and mental development. It is worth noting that TikTok introduced controls in November 2025 that allow users to increase or decrease the amount of AI-generated content appearing in their feeds.
