A Penultimate Dream

Roohi woke up to the sound of a broken mirror. Her face was sweet wet. But the mirror was undiminished. The sky was covered with black clouds and the roaring of foxes could be hear in the houses, built away from village near fields. She was scared and she had seen again snake and crows in her dream.

The day Sarah, got court marriage done with her lover Mursleen, both were classmates in Political Science. Roohi knew her own educational journey will be finished due to Sarah’s action was merely considered insolence.

Farman, 42 years old, farmer, stooped the Roohi to go University and decided to do her marriage with her cousin, who also works as driver.

Roohi’s marriage done after half year, she stands again front of mirror and looks ourself. Her face was wept with sweet and she looked again in the mirror, now mirror was intact but she was broken.
