Ajay Devgn is set to return as the iconic Vijay Salgaonkar for the third and final installment of the Hindi Drishyam franchise. The actor has officially unveiled the title and first poster of the much-awaited film, Drishyam The Conclusion, confirming that the movie will arrive in cinemas on October 2, 2026.
The announcement was made on August 24, generating excitement among fans who have followed Vijay’s journey since the franchise began in 2015. The first poster carries the powerful tagline, “Mera Sach, Mera Sahi, Sirf Meri Family Hai,” highlighting the central belief that has driven Vijay throughout the series — protecting his family at any cost.
A first-look teaser released in December 2025 had already offered audiences a glimpse of Vijay’s mindset ahead of the final chapter. In the teaser, Devgn’s voiceover reflected on the many identities associated with his character, from criminal and murderer to hero, innocent father and mastermind. Vijay makes it clear that none of those labels matter to him as long as his family remains protected.
The upcoming film is backed by Star Studio18 and Panorama Studios. Abhishek Pathak, who directed Drishyam 2, is returning to the director’s chair and has also co-written the screenplay with Aamil Keeyan Khan and Parveez Shaikh. Alok Jain, Ajit Andhare, Kumar Mangat Pathak and Abhishek Pathak are producing the project.
Devgn will once again portray Vijay Salgaonkar, a seemingly ordinary family man living in Goa whose intelligence and determination help him protect his loved ones after a murder takes place at their home. The character has become one of the actor’s most memorable recent roles, largely because of Vijay’s ability to remain calm and think several steps ahead.
Several key members of the cast are also returning. Tabu will reprise her role as IG Meera Deshmukh, while Shriya Saran will return as Nandini Salgaonkar. Rajat Kapoor is also set to reprise his role. The third installment will additionally introduce Prakash Raj and Jaideep Ahlawat in new roles, adding fresh faces to the franchise’s final chapter.
Production on the film has already been completed, with the project now in post-production. Details about the plot are being kept under wraps, although the title and promotional material suggest that Vijay and his family will face another major challenge.
The Hindi Drishyam franchise began in 2015 as a remake of the Malayalam original starring Mohanlal. The first Hindi film became a major success, earning around Rs 110 crore worldwide. Its 2022 sequel, Drishyam 2, proved even more successful, crossing Rs 342 crore globally and strengthening the franchise’s popularity.
While the Hindi adaptation is preparing to conclude its story with the third film, the original Malayalam franchise continues to expand. Mohanlal and Jeethu Joseph’s Drishyam 3 was released on May 21, 2026, and emerged as the highest-grossing entry in the Malayalam series so far. The film reportedly crossed Rs 242 crore worldwide after opening with Rs 43.37 crore.
The Malayalam franchise is not ending there either. Producer Antony Perumbavoor has confirmed that Drishyam 4 is in development, a development that Mohanlal has also addressed. Meanwhile, Hindi audiences will have to wait until October 2, 2026, to see how Vijay Salgaonkar’s story finally reaches its conclusion.
