Aruba Mirza reveals painful betrayal before planned marriage

Pakistani model and television actress Aruba Mirza has opened up about one of the most painful experiences of her personal life, revealing that she discovered her former fiancé had secretly married someone else shortly before their planned wedding.

Aruba rose to prominence after participating in the reality television show Tamasha, where she emerged as the winner of its second season. Her victory helped establish her as a familiar face in Pakistan’s entertainment industry. She has also appeared in several popular television dramas, including Shahrukh Ki Saliyaan, Rang Mehal and Intiqam.

Away from her professional career, Aruba has also faced major changes in her personal life. She is divorced and has been raising her 15-year-old daughter as a single mother. The actress frequently shares moments with her daughter on social media, giving fans glimpses into their relationship.

During a recent appearance on Dunya News’ entertainment show Mazaaqrat, hosted by Imran Ashraf, Aruba became emotional while discussing betrayal and heartbreak. The conversation took a serious turn when the host asked her whether she had ever been ditched by someone close to her.

Aruba admitted that she had experienced betrayal several times, both in friendships and romantic relationships. She described herself as someone who had been unfortunate enough to face disloyalty from people she trusted.

According to the actress, one of the most devastating incidents involved a seven-year relationship with a man she loved deeply. She explained that the couple had planned to get married and that their relationship was known to their families and people around them.

Aruba recalled that her former fiancé told her he was travelling to Islamabad because of family events. At the time, she was busy working on a shoot and had no reason to suspect anything unusual.

However, everything changed when one of her friends contacted her and asked her to look at some photographs. When Aruba opened the pictures, she discovered that they were photographs from her fiancé’s Nikah ceremony.

The revelation left her completely devastated.

She recalled breaking down and crying uncontrollably on the set. Her sudden emotional reaction worried everyone around her, but she could not bring herself to tell them the real reason behind her tears. Instead, she made an excuse and told people that her grandmother had passed away.

Aruba said she was unable to explain what had actually happened because she was still trying to process the shocking revelation herself. She had believed that she was in a committed relationship and that marriage was the next step in their future together.

The actress acknowledged that such betrayals can leave a lasting emotional impact, particularly when they come from someone with whom a person has spent many years.

Despite the painful experience, Aruba said that life eventually continues. She explained that she has learned to keep moving forward because life does not stop after heartbreak. She also credited time and supportive friends with helping her heal from the experience.

Aruba’s revelation also sheds light on an earlier announcement she made in August 2024. At the time, she informed her fans that she and her fiancé had decided to call off their engagement because of personal reasons that she did not want to discuss publicly.
