Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir held a meeting with a senior Belarusian delegation on Wednesday with discussions focusing on security matters and bilateral defence cooperation.
According to the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), the Belarusian delegation was headed by Lieutenant General Alexander Volfovich Secretary of the State Security Council of Belarus.
During the meeting, both sides exchanged views on the regional and international security environment. They also discussed matters of mutual interest and reviewed the existing framework of defence cooperation between Pakistan and Belarus.
Field Marshal Asim Munir reiterated Pakistan’s interest in expanding its defence and security partnership with Belarus. The discussions highlighted the importance of continued engagement between the two countries in areas related to security and defence.
The Belarusian delegation also expressed its commitment to further developing cooperation with Pakistan. According to ISPR, the visiting officials appreciated Pakistan’s contribution toward promoting peace and stability in the region.
The meeting comes as Pakistan and Belarus continue to engage on matters of mutual strategic interest. Defence and security cooperation remain important areas of bilateral relations with both sides emphasizing the value of closer coordination.
