BIGHIT Music has addressed the circulation of false information and malicious rumours targeting TXT leader Soobin following a controversy involving alleged AI-generated deepfake images and videos.
The issue gained attention after a Chinese male influencer claimed to have been romantically involved with the K-pop star and allegedly shared details about their supposed private interactions. The claims have fuelled widespread speculation across social media platforms.
On October 21, the controversy gained further traction on Weibo when the influencer reportedly discussed the allegations during a livestream. He claimed that he had shared a video with a close friend, who later betrayed his trust by allegedly circulating screenshots online. His remarks prompted further discussion among fans and online users.
Following the growing backlash, TXT fans called on BIGHIT Music to take legal action against those spreading potentially harmful content and to safeguard Soobin’s privacy.
In response, the agency issued a statement condemning the spread of false information and malicious rumours about its artist. Although the company did not directly name Soobin, it confirmed that internal measures were already underway to address the situation.
BIGHIT Music explained that it had initially avoided responding publicly to prevent giving unnecessary attention to the rumours. However, as the situation intensified ahead of the artist’s comeback, the agency decided to take additional steps to protect its artist’s rights and well-being.
The company also confirmed that it was monitoring harmful online content and would pursue legal action against those responsible for violating its artist’s personal rights.
