According to officials in Quetta, the investigation into the alleged financial and administrative irregularities at the university is nearing completion. The Anti-Corruption authorities are examining the matter and gathering relevant records and other evidence as part of the probe.

Officials said a formal case would be registered once the investigation is completed and the allegations are substantiated through the inquiry process.

Bolan Medical University Vice Chancellor Professor Shabbir Lehri said the matter was referred to the Anti-Corruption Department after alleged irregularities were brought to the university administration’s attention.

He said the alleged irregularities involved an official of the university’s Planning and Development Department. According to the vice chancellor, the case was handed over to the relevant authorities so that the allegations could be investigated through an independent legal process.

The Anti-Corruption Department is continuing its investigation into the matter, while officials are expected to determine responsibility after reviewing the available records and evidence.

Authorities said further legal action would be taken in accordance with the findings of the investigation. If the allegations are established, a formal case will be registered against those found responsible.
