Business community seeks justice after Karachi trader killed in Balochistan attack

The business community has demanded swift justice following the killing of Karachi-based trader Ali Murtaza in a firing incident in Balochistan’s Dasht area, urging authorities to arrest those responsible and conduct a transparent investigation.

Ali Murtaza was laid to rest after funeral prayers were offered at Rahmaniya Mosque on Karachi’s Tariq Road. His burial at Society Cemetery was attended by family members, relatives, trader representatives, and a large number of members of the business community.

Trader leaders strongly condemned the attack, describing it as a blatant act of terrorism, and called on both the federal and Balochistan governments to ensure that those behind the killing are brought to justice without delay.

Karachi Mobile Dealers Association President Minhaj Gulfam appealed to the government, the army chief, and the interior minister to take immediate action against the perpetrators. He stressed that justice for the slain trader was essential and said decisions regarding the business community’s future response would be made after mutual consultation.

The deceased is survived by his wife and two children. According to trader representatives, his wife remains under medical treatment following the tragic incident.

Business leaders also expressed disappointment over what they described as the lack of official response after the attack. They urged the authorities to carry out a fair investigation, hold the culprits accountable under the law, and provide justice and support to the bereaved family.
