From Meer Baloch
Through the columns of your respected newspaper, I would like to draw the attention of the authorities and the public to the serious problem of child labour in Pakistan. Thousands of children are forced to work in factories, shops, hotels, farms, and workshops instead of going to school. Poverty, unemployment, and lack of education are the main causes of this problem.
Child labour deprives children of their childhood, education, and good health. Many children work in unsafe conditions for long hours and receive very low wages. This affects their physical and mental development and limits their chances of having a better future.
The government should strictly enforce laws against child labour, support poor families, and ensure that every child has access to free and quality education. Parents and society should also understand the importance of education and protect children’s rights.
I hope the concerned authorities will take immediate steps to eliminate child labour and provide every child with the opportunity to learn and grow in a safe environment.
