Dadu clash leaves eight dead, two injured

DADU: Eight people were killed and two others injured after an armed clash broke out between two groups in the Katcha area of Dadu.

According to police, the incident occurred in Goth Dano Chandio, where the two groups exchanged fire following a dispute over land and the use of a passage.

Police said the two communities had been involved in a long-running land dispute. The situation escalated after an argument over access to a route, leading to an exchange of gunfire between the groups.

Upon receiving information about the incident, a heavy contingent of police reached the area and launched an operation to bring the situation under control.

Sindh Chief Minister Murad Ali Shah took notice of the firing incident and expressed grief over the loss of precious lives. He extended his condolences to the families of those killed.

The chief minister sought a report from the Inspector General of Police over the incident and directed authorities to arrest those responsible.

Murad Ali Shah ordered indiscriminate action against all elements involved in the clash. He said no one would be allowed to take the law into their own hands.

He also directed the police chief to ensure an immediate investigation and take effective measures for the arrest of the suspects.

Police said further investigation into the incident was underway.
