Atif Aslam surprises fans with roadside ‘Doorie’ duet in Doha

DOHA: Pakistani singer Atif Aslam has delighted fans in Doha after an unexpected roadside singing moment turned into a viral social media sensation.

A video circulating online shows a group of fans travelling in a car alongside Aslam’s vehicle. The fans reportedly recognised the singer and immediately began singing his popular track “Doorie” from his second studio album, also titled Doorie, released in 2006.

The fans started singing a few lines of the song from their vehicle. The spontaneous performance soon became even more memorable when Aslam appeared through the sunroof of his car.

The singer joined the fans and continued singing the remaining lyrics with them. The brief exchange created an unusual interaction between the artist and his admirers and was captured on video.

The clip was shared by Qatar-based content creator Izaan Shah. Sharing the footage, Shah wrote: “POV: Atif Aslam starts singing with you. Wait till he comes out.”

The video quickly gained attention across social media. Fans praised the singer for joining his admirers instead of simply passing by.

Many users described the encounter as a once-in-a-lifetime experience. Others expressed their jealousy at seeing fans get such a personal moment with one of Pakistan’s most popular singers.

One social media user jokingly wrote that Pakistani fans had “taken” Atif Aslam, while another described the encounter as an incredibly special moment.

A third user imagined being in the same situation and said it was like living the life they had always dreamed about.

The viral video has also renewed interest in Aslam’s long musical career. His song “Doorie” remains one of his most recognisable tracks and continues to enjoy popularity nearly two decades after its release.

New music after a long gap

The viral Doha encounter comes at a significant point in Atif Aslam’s career. The singer has recently returned with his fourth studio album, “Subah Aye Na.”

The new record marks his return to a full studio album after an extended gap. His previous album, “Meri Kahani,” was released in 2008.
