Dakota Johnson sparks romance buzz with candid comment about musicians

Hollywood actress Dakota Johnson has sparked fresh interest in her dating life after making candid remarks about her attraction to musicians amid speculation linking her with Machine Gun Kelly (MGK).

In a recent interview, the Fifty Shades of Grey star was asked about her history of dating musicians. Johnson said she knows many musicians and jokingly remarked that they seem to like her, adding that she likes them as well.

When asked what makes artists appealing to her, Johnson laughed and admitted there were plenty of things she found challenging about them. She then jokingly described musicians as “tricky” people.

Her comments have attracted attention because they came shortly after she was photographed spending time with MGK in New York City, prompting renewed speculation about a possible relationship between the two.

Johnson and MGK were reportedly seen together in New York on September 11. They were photographed travelling in the same black SUV after leaving Taylor Swift’s Tribeca apartment and later heading to Estela restaurant.

An unnamed source quoted in reports claimed that the pair spent time talking over dinner and getting to know each other. The source described their interaction as relaxed and said there appeared to be chemistry between them. However, neither Johnson nor MGK has publicly confirmed that they are dating.

MGK was previously involved in a high-profile, on-and-off relationship with actress Megan Fox. The former couple welcomed their daughter, Saga, in March 2025.

Johnson, meanwhile, was previously in a relationship with Coldplay frontman Chris Martin. The pair began dating in 2017 before eventually ending their relationship. She was later linked to musician Role Model, with their separation reportedly confirmed in August 2026.

Johnson also hinted that she may eventually take a break from acting. She described leaving film sets as an emotional experience and said she would like to spend more time simply living her life away from the demands of work.
