Dakota Johnson steals the spotlight at Verity premiere

Dakota Johnson turned heads with her elegant red-carpet appearance as she joined Anne Hathaway and Josh Hartnett at the premiere of Verity in New York City.

The actress attended the event at AMC Lincoln Square 13 on Tuesday, September 29, where she showcased a striking fashion look that perfectly matched the dark and mysterious mood of the upcoming thriller.

Johnson stepped onto the red carpet in a cream lace gown designed by Colleen Allen. The delicate dress featured black detailing underneath, creating a bold contrast between the soft lace and darker elements of the outfit.

Her look was given an even more dramatic touch with a pitch-black manicure. The combination of the light-coloured gown and black accents created a modern and sophisticated appearance while keeping the focus on the intricate details of the dress.

One of the standout features of Johnson’s ensemble was the crystal fringe. The sparkling embellishment created a waterfall-like effect and added movement to the gown as she walked the red carpet.

The actress completed her appearance with matching square-toed leather sandals, keeping her footwear simple and elegant while allowing the detailed gown to remain the centre of attention.

Anne Hathaway also made a memorable appearance at the premiere. The actress, who is expecting her third child, highlighted her baby bump in a fitted black lace mermaid gown from Prabal Gurung’s Atelier Collection.

Her gown featured a sheer, glittering cape that added a dramatic finish to the look. Hathaway kept her makeup understated with bronze-toned eyeshadow and a nude matte lip, while her brunette hair was styled half-up and half-down.

She accessorized with a diamond bracelet and teardrop-shaped earrings, adding a subtle touch of sparkle to her maternity look.

The premiere brought together the main stars of Verity, a psychological thriller based on Colleen Hoover’s bestselling novel.

Johnson plays Lowen Ashleigh, a struggling writer who is given the opportunity to ghostwrite the bestselling book series of famous author Verity Crawford, played by Hathaway.

Lowen travels to Verity’s home after the author becomes unable to continue her work. During her stay, however, she discovers disturbing autobiographical notes that reveal troubling details about Verity’s life.

As Lowen reads through the documents, she becomes increasingly unsure about what is fact and what is fiction. Her growing involvement with the Crawford family leads her into a complicated situation involving secrets, attraction and manipulation.

Josh Hartnett stars as Jeremy Crawford, Verity’s husband, whose relationship with both women becomes an important part of the story.

The film features a production team that includes Nick Antosca, Aled Hedlund, Stacey Sher, Michael Showalter, Jordana Mollick, Anne Hathaway and Colleen Hoover. Kerry Orent, Dakota Johnson and Lauren Levine are among the executive producers.

Verity is being released by Amazon MGM Studios and is scheduled to arrive in cinemas on October 2. With Johnson and Hathaway taking on the central roles, the thriller brings Hoover’s suspenseful story to the big screen with a mystery surrounding secrets, relationships and the blurred line between truth and fiction.
