Defence fight: police officers identified

KARACHI: Police have identified the officers who were present at the scene of a dispute in Defence’s Khayaban-e-Bukhari area.

According to police officials, the identified personnel are posted in District Korangi and at Madadgar 15 Korangi. The officers had been summoned to the DIG South Office at 10am today to record their statements and provide details about the incident. However, they did not appear before the authorities.

Police officials said both families involved in the dispute had also been called for questioning, but neither family has arrived yet to record their statements.

Authorities have directed the Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Korangi to provide complete details of the officers who were present at the scene. Police said further action would follow if the summoned personnel fail to appear before the investigating authorities.

Officials added that the inquiry would determine the circumstances surrounding the incident and establish the role, if any, of those present at the scene.
