DI Khan: At least four Customs officials shot

A tragic incident unfolded on Thursday near Saggu Road in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa’s DI Khan, claiming the lives of at least four Customs officials in a firing incident, as confirmed by the police.

Tragically, amidst the chaos of the gunfire, a passerby also lost their life in a collision involving nearby vehicles.

The police disclosed that the attack occurred while the Customs officials were engaged in their routine duties along the DI Khan-Quetta road, with unidentified assailants opening fire without warning.

The assailants managed to flee the scene before authorities could apprehend them, leaving behind a scene of devastation and loss.

This heart-wrenching incident follows a similar tragedy from last month, where two valiant soldiers of the Pakistan army were martyred in a suicide attack in DI Khan.

According to Inter-Services-Public-Relations (ISPR), the soldiers sacrificed their lives when a vehicle-borne suicide bomber targeted a security forces’ convoy in the Dera Ismail Khan District.

Unfortunately, this region has been no stranger to such violence. Back in February of this year, a devastating explosion near a police vehicle in Kulachi resulted in the martyrdom of at least five brave police officers, with two others sustaining injuries.

The explosion, which occurred in the Garah Aslam area of Kulachi, prompted swift action as the deceased and injured were urgently airlifted to DI Khan for medical attention.
