The company overseeing the estate of late country music star Dolly Parton has voluntarily dismissed its lawsuit against her nephew and former head of security, Bryan Seaver, a court filing showed on Thursday.

She’s Alive LLC, which manages Parton’s business interests, filed a notice of voluntary dismissal in a Tennessee state court in Nashville. The case was dismissed without prejudice, meaning the company could bring the claims again.

The filing did not explain why the lawsuit was being withdrawn. The move came after weeks of legal disputes between the company and Seaver, who had denied allegations that he threatened people associated with Parton’s estate.

The lawsuit was filed in September by She’s Alive, whose manager is Parton’s longtime manager, Danny Nozell. It accused Seaver and his security company, Squadron Augmented Protection Services (SAPS), of making threats against the estate’s employees and business partners.

Seaver disputed the allegations in court filings, saying that messages cited by the company had been taken out of context. He also denied threatening anyone associated with the estate.

Seaver’s lawyer, Dominic J. Leonardo, welcomed the dismissal in a statement to TMZ.

“Mr. Seaver cares deeply about his Aunt Dolly, her music, her family, and the incredible legacy she left behind. He has made a career out of protecting his aunt while she was alive and remains committed to Dolly and his entire family,” Leonardo said.

“Mr. Seaver is grateful to put this misunderstanding behind him so that the entire family can continue to grieve peacefully and ensure that the bright light of Dolly’s legacy remains entirely untouched,” he added.

Seaver worked as Parton’s head of security for more than 20 years. She’s Alive said in court filings that his services and those of his company were terminated in September, following the singer’s death on August 25.

Seaver had announced his aunt’s death in a video message shared on her social media accounts.
