Dr. Noshina Saleem appointed Dean of PU’s Media Faculty

LAHORE— The Government of Punjab has appointed Prof. Dr. Noshina Saleem as Dean of the Faculty of Information & Media Studies at the University of the Punjab, Lahore.

According to a notification issued by the Higher Education Department on Tuesday, the Governor/Chancellor of Punjab, exercising powers under the University of the Punjab Act, 1973, appointed Dr. Saleem for a period of three years or till the date of superannuation, whichever is earlier.

Dr. Saleem, who serves in the Department of Communication & Media Research, was appointed “being the highest in merit.” She will oversee academic and administrative affairs of one of PU’s key faculties that trains students in journalism, mass communication, digital media and media research.

The notification, signed by Section Officer Shafaqat Ali, has been circulated to the Principal Secretaries of the Governor and Chief Minister, Vice Chancellor PU, Registrar PU, and other senior officials for necessary action.

Academic Leadership

Dr. Noshina Saleem is a senior academic and researcher in the field of communication and media studies. Her appointment is being seen as a recognition of her contributions to media education and research at Punjab University.

Faculty members and students have congratulated Dr. Saleem on her new role, expressing hope that her leadership will further strengthen research, curriculum development, and industry linkages in information and media studies.

The Faculty of Information & Media Studies at PU is one of the oldest media education institutions in Pakistan and plays a central role in shaping media professionals and scholars in the country.
