The Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) has disqualified former National Assembly members Zar Taj Gul, Sahibzada Hamid Raza and Abdul Latif for failing to submit details of their assets and liabilities for the financial year 2024–25.
The ECP issued a written order regarding the disqualification of the three former lawmakers, stating that they will remain disqualified until they submit the required statements of assets and liabilities.
According to the commission, the former lawmakers are currently barred from contesting elections. The disqualification applies to general elections as well as by-elections, Senate elections and local government polls.
The ECP’s decision comes under the legal requirement for elected representatives to regularly submit their statements of assets and liabilities within the prescribed period.
The commission clarified that the disqualification will remain in effect until the required financial declarations are filed in accordance with the rules.
