KARACHI: The Sindh government has announced revised school timings across the province, reducing daily school hours by one hour with immediate effect.
The decision was announced through a notification issued by the Sindh School Education and Literacy Department. The revised schedule will remain applicable until further orders.
Under the new arrangement, schools across Sindh will continue operating five days a week, from Monday to Friday. Heads of educational institutions and relevant field officers have been directed to ensure strict implementation of the revised timings.
The change follows the provincial government’s earlier decision to restore Saturday as a weekly holiday for educational institutions across Sindh. With schools now functioning for five days instead of six, the government had indicated that academic activities would be adjusted to ensure the prescribed curriculum is completed.
The latest reduction in daily hours modifies that arrangement, with the new timings taking effect immediately.
Authorities have instructed education officials and school administrations to follow the notification and ensure that teaching activities continue according to the revised schedule.
