Fazl urges dialogue to defuse Kashmir tensions

Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam (JUI) chief Maulana Fazlur Rehman has called for resolving the ongoing tensions through dialogue, urging the banned Awami Action Committee to avoid any action that could worsen the situation or lead to violence.

In a message addressed to the committee, Fazlur Rehman appealed for patience and restraint. He said disputes should be settled through negotiations instead of confrontation, stressing that peaceful engagement is the only way to reach a lasting solution.

The JUI chief said Bilawal Bhutto Zardari is also actively involved in efforts to resolve the issue. According to him, Bilawal is in contact with the government and is trying to create a path for meaningful discussions between all stakeholders. He requested the committee to allow some time for these efforts to continue.

Fazlur Rehman said Bilawal is committed to preventing bloodshed and unrest. He added that all political leaders should work together to avoid a situation that could result in violence or further instability. He stressed that every possible effort should be made to maintain peace and protect the lives of ordinary people.

He further said that dialogue remains the most effective way to address disagreements and that political wisdom should prevail over confrontation. He urged all sides to act responsibly and avoid steps that could deepen tensions or make reconciliation more difficult.

The JUI chief also highlighted the importance of building confidence between the people of Pakistan and the people of Kashmir. He said positive developments and peaceful engagement are essential for strengthening mutual trust and creating an atmosphere in which long-term issues can be addressed constructively.

Fazlur Rehman said lasting peace can only be achieved through consultation, understanding and cooperation among all concerned parties. He added that political differences should be resolved through democratic means rather than conflict.
