He maintained that the country’s political system needed to operate within the constitutional framework. He also emphasised the importance of political struggle through democratic and legal means.
The JUI-F chief also spoke about Pakistan’s defence capabilities. He said defence strength was essential for the security of the country and the state.
Fazlur Rehman said JUI-F believed that Pakistan needed a strong defence system. He described defence capability as an important requirement for protecting the country’s sovereignty and national interests.
During the convention, JUI-F Secretary-General Abdul Ghafoor Haideri also addressed the participants.
Haideri said the country’s present situation was not very different from the political conditions witnessed in the subcontinent in the past.
He alleged that different tactics were being used to suppress the party’s political voice. He said JUI-F would continue to raise its voice on national and political issues despite such challenges.
Haideri also criticised the political forces being presented against JUI-F. He questioned their electoral strength and said that people who could not even win a councillor’s seat were being brought forward to compete with the party.
