Pakistan’s Ministry of Religious Affairs has announced that payment collection for both the Government and Private Hajj Schemes 2027 is continuing with pilgrims now able to complete registration, select packages and pay their Hajj dues through a digital system.

According to the ministry, pilgrims can use the National IT Board’s Hajj Portal and the Pak Hajj mobile application to complete their applications from home. The digital system allows applicants to submit the required information and documents, choose a Hajj package and make payments without visiting offices.

The ministry said that around 92,000 Hajj applications have been received so far while approximately 15,000 seats remain available.

Under the Government Hajj Scheme around Rs58 billion was collected during the first five days of payment collection. Officials said nearly 40 percent of the total payments were made online, describing the development as an important milestone in Pakistan’s Hajj digitalization process.

The ministry said the large-scale digital collection of Hajj dues has been introduced for the first time to make the process easier, safer and more transparent. The initiative is part of efforts to fully digitize Hajj operations through cooperation between the Ministry of Religious Affairs and the National IT Board.

Meanwhile, online payment collection for the Private Hajj Scheme 2027 has also started. Private-sector pilgrims are required to first register through the Pak Hajj app or Hajj Portal and enter their personal details.

Pilgrims under the private scheme must also upload all required documents including a passport valid until November 16, 2027. After completing registration, applicants can select an authorized Hajj company and their preferred package before paying the applicable dues.

Payments under the private scheme can be made through OneLink PSID, bank cards or bank challans. The ministry has also allowed manual challan payments at authorized branches of Habib Bank Limited. Despite being a holiday approximately Rs15 million in private Hajj payments were reportedly received online on the first day.

The Ministry of Religious Affairs has warned pilgrims not to pay Hajj dues to individuals, agents or organizations outside the official Hajj Portal or Pak Hajj app. Any financial loss resulting from payments made outside the official system will be the responsibility of the concerned pilgrim.

Officials said the digital Hajj system will provide real-time data, improve transparency and enhance the security of financial transactions. Pilgrims have been advised to complete registration and payment as soon as possible because bookings will close once the allocated seats are filled.
