The Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI), working alongside several law enforcement agencies, has reportedly thwarted what officials described as a major terrorist plot targeting the UFC Freedom 250 event held at the White House on June 14. The event, organized on the South Lawn of the White House, was part of celebrations marking America’s 250th anniversary and coincided with former President Donald Trump’s birthday.

The alleged attackers had devised a complex and highly coordinated plan aimed at causing mass casualties and widespread panic. Authorities stated that the suspects intended to launch explosive-laden drones against buildings located near the venue. The purpose of these drone strikes was not only to inflict damage but also to trigger a large-scale evacuation of attendees.

Investigators believe that once the crowds began fleeing the area, a pre-positioned sniper team would have targeted people caught in the chaos. Officials described the scheme as a calculated attempt to maximize casualties by exploiting confusion and fear among the thousands expected to attend the event.

The FBI further revealed that the conspiracy involved an additional phase. According to investigators, some members of the group allegedly planned to take advantage of the disorder created by the drone attacks and attempt to storm the White House itself.

Authorities first became aware of the potential threat on June 10. Following the discovery of intelligence indicating an imminent danger, the FBI coordinated with multiple federal, state, and local law enforcement partners. Their investigation led to a significant operation that resulted in arrests, including one conducted in Cincinnati.

As of Monday, officials confirmed that five suspects had been taken into custody. Investigators have also identified at least 23 individuals believed to be connected to a broader network involved in the alleged plot. Evidence recovered during the investigation reportedly included communications exchanged through the encrypted messaging platform Signal.

Federal investigators stated that these messages outlined detailed plans related to the attack. Information obtained from one suspect’s iPhone allegedly linked numerous individuals to discussions involving operational planning and logistical coordination. Some of the communications suggested that certain members of the group intended to travel to Fredericksburg, Virginia, on June 12 and 13 to finalize preparations before carrying out the operation.

According to authorities, the suspects’ communications indicated that they intended to target billionaires, politicians, and other influential figures whom they associated with the American Israel Public Affairs Committee (AIPAC). The investigation has since expanded across the country, involving at least 12 FBI field offices.

FBI Director Kash Patel addressed the matter on social media platform X, providing details about the operation. He stated that on June 10, the FBI and its law enforcement partners became aware of a potential threat against the UFC America 250 event in Washington, D.C., involving individuals from outside the National Capital Region.

Patel praised the swift response of federal agents, law enforcement partners, and the Department of Justice, noting that a coordinated multi-state operation successfully prevented the alleged attacks from taking place. He confirmed that multiple individuals were in custody and emphasized that the investigation remains active.

The FBI continues to gather evidence and pursue additional leads while urging the public to report any suspicious activity to authorities. Officials have indicated that further updates will be provided as the ongoing investigation progresses.
