Federal Investigation Agency implements strict new entry rules for dual nationals

The Federal Investigation Agency has introduced revised travel regulations that require all Pakistani dual nationals to hold either a valid National Identity Card for Overseas Pakistanis or a valid Pakistani visa when travelling to the country. Under this updated policy, dual citizens will no longer be permitted to enter Pakistan using an expired or cancelled identity card. This strict documentation requirement applies to all travellers arriving from any international destination, including the United Kingdom and the United States.

According to agency officials, passengers carrying foreign passports must present their valid identity card or an approved Pakistani visa before they are permitted to board their flights. Airlines have been formally notified of these updated protocols and have been instructed to deny boarding to any passenger who does not possess the required, valid documents. The measure was enacted after airlines repeatedly transported passengers holding expired or cancelled cards to Pakistani airports.

The Federal Investigation Agency warned that any traveller arriving at a domestic airport with an invalid identity card will be denied entry into the country and returned on the next available flight. The Ministry of Interior has communicated the revised rules to all national immigration authorities, and the new travel requirements have officially gone into effect at airports across Pakistan.
