The Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) has arrested three suspects in Sahiwal for allegedly defrauding a citizen of Rs10 million by promising him employment abroad.
According to an FIA spokesperson, the arrests were made by the agency’s Anti-Human Trafficking Circle during an operation in Sahiwal.
The suspects allegedly approached the victim with an offer to arrange a job overseas and collected Rs10 million from him in exchange for securing employment.
However, despite receiving the money, they allegedly failed to arrange the promised job. They also did not return the amount to the victim, prompting action by the authorities.
Following the operation, the FIA arrested all three suspects and registered a case against them.
The agency has launched further investigations to establish the circumstances of the alleged fraud and determine whether the suspects were involved in other similar cases.
The FIA continues its efforts to take action against individuals accused of exploiting people seeking employment opportunities abroad through fraudulent job offers.
