Five Palestinians killed in fresh Israeli strikes on Gaza

GAZA: At least five Palestinians were killed in separate Israeli attacks across the Gaza Strip on Saturday, including three members of the same family, according to local medical sources and eyewitnesses.

The latest strikes came amid continued reports of violations of the ongoing ceasefire, adding to concerns over the safety of civilians in the war-ravaged territory.

A local medical source told media that at least one Palestinian was killed when an Israeli drone targeted a tent sheltering displaced people in the Al-Mashahra area east of Gaza City.

The attack reportedly struck a location where people who had been forced from their homes were seeking refuge, highlighting the continuing risks faced by displaced families living in temporary shelters.

In another incident, three Palestinians were killed near the Al-Mutahain junction in Al-Qarara, in the Khan Younis area of southern Gaza.

A medical source at Nasser Hospital in Khan Younis said the bodies of the three victims were brought to the facility following the attack.

Witnesses said that two of those killed were brothers, while the third was their cousin. All three victims reportedly belonged to the Abdeen family.

The deaths added to the mounting civilian toll in Gaza, where residents continue to face severe humanitarian challenges after months of conflict and displacement.

Another Palestinian was killed in an Israeli strike in the Sabra neighbourhood, southwest of Gaza City, according to local sources.

The separate attacks have renewed fears among residents that the ceasefire remains fragile, particularly as reports of military strikes continue from different parts of the territory.

For displaced Palestinians, the danger is especially acute as many families remain in temporary shelters and have limited access to safe areas. Repeated attacks have also placed enormous pressure on Gaza’s hospitals and emergency services, which continue to treat casualties while operating under difficult conditions.

The latest incidents come as international efforts continue to maintain the ceasefire and prevent a renewed escalation. However, continued violence has deepened uncertainty for civilians hoping to return to a more stable life.
