Four people were killed and a young girl was seriously injured in a shooting incident in Balochistan’s Qila Abdullah district on Sunday. According to police, the attack is believed to be linked to a long-standing personal feud. Authorities have launched an investigation to identify and arrest those responsible.
The incident occurred in the Badwan area of Qila Abdullah, where unidentified gunmen opened fire on a group of people. Police said the deceased were identified as Ubaidullah, Ziaullah, Aimal, and Muhammad Shahid. A young girl, identified as Bibi Saniya, sustained critical injuries and was rushed to a nearby medical facility for emergency treatment.
The victims were initially taken to the Trauma Center at Mezi Adda, where doctors confirmed the deaths of the four men. Due to the severity of her injuries, Bibi Saniya was later referred to a hospital in Quetta for specialized medical care. After legal formalities and post-mortem examinations, the bodies of the deceased were handed over to their families.
Following the incident, grieving relatives staged a protest by placing the bodies on the Quetta–Chaman Highway and demanding immediate justice. The demonstration temporarily blocked traffic on one of the region’s key transport routes, causing significant disruption for commuters and commercial vehicles.
Deputy Commissioner Qila Abdullah, Munawar Hussain Magsi, along with senior police and administrative officials, reached the protest site and held negotiations with the demonstrators. After lengthy discussions and assurances from the authorities, the protesters agreed to end the sit-in and reopen the highway to traffic.
Police officials said preliminary findings suggest the shooting was motivated by an old personal rivalry. Investigators are working to identify the attackers, while additional security personnel have been deployed in the area to maintain law and order and prevent further violence.
The victims’ families have called for the immediate arrest of those involved and demanded that those responsible be prosecuted under the law. Local authorities have assured the families that the case will be investigated impartially and that all legal measures will be taken to bring the perpetrators to justice.
Community elders and political leaders also condemned the attack, urging peaceful resolution of local disputes and stronger measures to protect civilians. The incident has once again highlighted concerns about recurring violence linked to long-standing feuds in parts of Balochistan.
