Funeral prayers held for Rangers personnel martyred in Karachi terror attack

Karachi: Funeral prayers were offered for the Pakistan Rangers (Sindh) personnel who embraced martyrdom while repelling a terrorist attack on a Rangers camp in Karachi. The attack, attributed by authorities to the Indian proxy group Jamaat-ul-Ahrar, was successfully foiled before the assailants could achieve their objectives.

The funeral was attended by Federal Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi, Sindh Governor Nihal Hashmi, Sindh Chief Minister Murad Ali Shah, Director General Pakistan Rangers (Sindh), the families of the fallen personnel, and a large number of senior civil and military officials. Participants paid tribute to the martyrs for their sacrifice and expressed heartfelt condolences to their bereaved families.

Speaking on the occasion, Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi described the terrorist attack as deeply tragic and vowed that those responsible would be brought to justice. He said Pakistan’s security forces would pursue the perpetrators wherever they were and ensure they faced the full force of the law.

Sindh Governor Nihal Hashmi strongly condemned the attack, reaffirming the country’s commitment to eliminating terrorism. He said Pakistan would never tolerate what he described as Indian-sponsored terrorism and would continue efforts to eradicate the menace from its roots.

Chief Minister Murad Ali Shah praised the courage of the Rangers personnel, saying they had thwarted the terrorists’ malicious intentions through their bravery and supreme sacrifice. He reiterated the provincial government’s unwavering support for the country’s security forces in the fight against terrorism.

Following the funeral prayers, the bodies of the martyrs were dispatched to their hometowns, where they will be laid to rest with full military honours. Later, Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi, accompanied by the Sindh Governor, visited the site of the terrorist attack.

Authorities reiterated that Pakistan’s security forces remain fully committed to eliminating terrorism and safeguarding the country’s peace and security.
