New York: Google has terminated the employment of another 20 employees who protested against the contract with Israel.
Representatives of a group of Google employees stated that over 50 employees who protested against the company’s contract with Israel, a country known for its brutal and inhumane actions against Palestinians in Gaza have been dismissed by the company.
Google employees have been protesting against the company’s involvement in a $1.2 billion Israeli project named “Nimbus” which is related to artificial intelligence (AI) technology and surveillance. Google and Amazon signed the contract with Israel in 2021.
Last week, employees staged protests at Google’s offices in New York and California prompting the company to request police intervention.
According to the group No Tech For Apartheid, Google had previously fired 30 workers last week and on the night of April 23, another 20 workers were dismissed from their positions.
