KARACHI: Pakistani singer Asim Azhar celebrated his 30th birthday by surprising fans with a new musical release but it was actor Hania Aamir’s appearance in his birthday photographs that became the biggest talking point on social media.

Azhar released his latest track Ajnabi as a birthday present for his fans. Announcing the song through an Instagram video filmed on the streets of London the singer dedicated it to people who have experienced finding love again.

Alongside the music video he shared a heartfelt message describing the release as a gift for his listeners and hinting at the emotions surrounding the song’s theme.

However attention quickly shifted to Hania Aamir after she appeared in the singer’s birthday photo collection.

Just hours before Azhar shared his birthday celebrations Aamir posted an Instagram story showing herself riding scooters around a neighbourhood with a male companion. The singer’s new track was playing in the background prompting social media users to connect the two posts.

Azhar later uploaded a series of birthday photographs expressing gratitude for the love, prayers and wishes he received. He described the occasion as one of his happiest birthdays and thanked his supporters for making the milestone special.

The photographs offered glimpses of his celebrations including a cake featuring a childhood picture of the singer, family moments with his parents and relatives and several lighthearted snapshots. One image also showed him posing behind a poster carrying the playful message, “A year older and hotter.”

Nevertheless the ninth slide attracted particular interest as it featured Azhar and Aamir riding kick scooters together around the neighbourhood.
