RAWALPINDI: Police have revealed new details in the murder investigation of 45-year-old Hina Javed in Rawalpindi, saying her body was found tied to a shower in a bathroom and her hands were bound behind her back.
According to Regional Police Officer Rawalpindi Sarfraz Elpa the circumstances surrounding the discovery of Hina Javed’s body immediately raised suspicions of murder. He said police believed the incident had been presented as a suicide, but the condition of the body suggested otherwise.
The incident was reported to police on August 20 after a man identified as Asghar Ali Fayyaz arrived at the police station at around 6am and reported that burglars had allegedly entered a house located on Faisal Alvi Road.
Police teams immediately reached the residence and found Hina Javed’s body inside the washroom. According to the police, her body was tied to the shower while her hands had been bound behind her back.
RPO Sarfraz Elpa said two suspects, including Hina Javed’s husband and a household employee, have been arrested in connection with the case. He added that Hina Javed’s father-in-law has also been included in the investigation.
The police official said a high-level investigation team has been formed under the supervision of the SSP Investigation. The team is examining the available evidence and working to determine the circumstances that led to Hina Javed’s death.
Authorities said further action will be taken in accordance with the law once concrete evidence is obtained. The police are also waiting for additional medical reports, which could provide important information for the investigation.
During a press conference alongside Rawalpindi CPO Hassan Mushtaq Sukhera, the RPO said investigators were carefully examining the case and that the investigation would proceed on the basis of evidence.
The circumstances of Hina Javed’s death have raised serious questions about what happened inside the house. Investigators are expected to examine the reported burglary claim, the condition of the crime scene, statements from those connected to the victim and the available forensic and medical evidence.
Police have assured that the investigation will continue and that legal action will be taken against those found responsible. The case remains under investigation, while authorities await further evidence and medical findings before proceeding with additional measures.
